Farm Tour for CSA Members — May 9 & 10, 2009

Restoration Farm’s newer CSA members met the growers Mother’s Day weekend and got a good close look at where their vegetables will be sprouting this season. While strolling the fields during the 90-minute tours, the members heard a series of mini talks on crop rotation, cover crops, techniques used when pesticides and herbicides are out of the picture, this year’s planting schedule, and what to expect on distribution days. The tours ended at the distribution tent with homemade oatmeal-blueberry muffins, fruit salad, iced tea, and lemonade.
