Blackberries...1/2 pint per week
All full-share and half-share members, as well as share partners who have paid the membership fee, can pick the weekly quota.
Don't think you like blackberries? You've probably never had a ripe one! Ripe blackberries are plump, dull, and pull easily from the branch. A berry may be big and black, but if it's shiny and shows any resistance when you pull, it's not ready. Ripe blackberries are unbelievably sweet, not at all tart.

Mondays: 8am - 4pm
Tuesdays: 8am - 5:30pm
Wednesdays: 8am - 4pm
Thursdays: 8am - 5:30pm
Fridays: 8am - 4pm
Saturdays: 8am - 1pm
Deer Fence Protocol & OBVR Guest Etiquette
This is the final year members pick from the blackberry bushes in Old Pond Field, aka the Berry Field. The field is located outside the deer fence, and when blackberry harvest is over, it will return to the care of the Old Bethpage Village Restoration.
The deer fence will be open during CSA pickup hours:
Tuesdays 2-6pm
Thursdays 2-6pm
Saturdays 9am-1pm
Members who want to pick during non-pickup hours may do so, but they must open and close the gate themselves. Also, members are NOT permitted to walk beyond the blackberry patch into the Old Bethpage Village Restoration. Thanks for your cooperation!
