CSA—Program Info
Eating is an agricultural act — Wendell Berry
Community supported agriculture (CSA) is a cooperative model that puts farmers and eaters in direct, intimate contact. By sharing the risks inherent in farming, this model allows growers to avoid debt, employ sustainable methods, and build farms that are deeply connected to the communities they serve.
Important Note about the 2026 CSA
We have been operating without a contract since January 1, 2025. We submitted a bid to continue operating in November 2024, and Nassau County officials announced their intent to negotiate a new contract in May 2025, but there have been no developments since. So, in addition to accepting the risk that pests and weather may reduce crop yields, CSA members must also accept the risk that we could get evicted at any moment. If that happens, we will issue pro-rated refunds.
